Back pain and core strength

June 22, 2017

Sometimes back pain is not a result of a problem with your back, but weakness in your core. Your body is made up of groups of muscles that perform opposing movements and when they are not balanced, it can lead to injury. Your low back muscles cause extension at the hip while your core causes flexion. When your abs are not firing like they should, it puts your low back into an extended position that makes it more susceptible to injury.
